Tacoma Family Photographer | It’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time for my sweet Kaelin!
It was lunch time at the Binder house. My three year old requested peanut butter and jelly… and who can refuse peanut butter and jelly? Kaelin has grown so very independent in the last month and has to do everything herself… and this is how she did peanut butter and jelly!
First. You take the top piece of bread off and lay it down next to the bottom piece. Next, you smile and giggle at it (knowing exactly whats coming next). Then you proceed to grab a piece of peanut butter and jelly bread, from the middle of the slice, making sure to get every finger in the goo, and then you put the smeared peanut butter and jelly bread up to your face as if it were a napkin. You then take a few bites from the middle of the bread. When mom offers to help you, you shake your head vigorously and say “NO, NO, NO!”
After you’ve eaten half of the “mess” …. make sure you run your fingers through your hair… because? Well… Why not? You only live once! YOLO!!
And finally, before mom even gets to sit down to eat her lunch, make sure you touch everything within reach. Oh. And let her take pictures. ALWAYS let her take pictures
Dear Kaelin,
I am loving watching you grow into this beautiful, tiny, person. In the past few months your personality has burst through and it has been SO MUCH FUN being in this moment with you. You are so independent these days. Perhaps a little too independent. You want to do everything. And you only want to do it your way. If that means eating an open face peanut butter and jelly sandwich, well, then, it means eating an open face peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
I also love to hear you sing while on our way to somewhere in the van. (If you are 18 and just now reading this, yes, your mom and dad sported one heck of a mini van! And can I just say, we LOVE our Honda Odessy!!) You coo and laugh and just recently you started to sing your own songs. And, I can’t get enough of it. If I hear your singing, I will slowly turn down the volume of the radio and just smile hugely listening to your sweet little voice.
You Daddy and I both love getting you from your crib in the morning. You are by FAR the best Binder Baby in the morning. EVER. You are so sweet and snuggly and we both love to soak it in. It is often short lived because of your independence…but we try to get every drip out of those first few moments of our day. And, we also like to show it off to the other parent who didn’t get you from the crib that morning… and we will often say something like… “awh. Look! You’re jealous aren’t you?” And odds are…we are!
Hunny. I adore you. So much. I am so thankful that I get to be your Mommy. I try to remember to thank Jesus everyday…sometimes I forget to say it out loud… but sometimes I know that He knows just by the way I hold you before bedtime. I squeeze you tight while swaying back and forth and singing our goodnight song. These are the days. From peanut butter and jelly, to our soft sweet moments in the morning and night. I love you my sweet angel.
Love, Mommy
